Teaching Story - Part 1

Greetings Awakened Souls!
This blog post is a teaching story about an epiphany that occurred on a trip to Guatemala in 2017. I am sending this to you because, in addition to having great meaning for me, it also has teaching in it for others.
Because we live in a Universe that is awake and alive, it is possible for all of us to have experiences such as the story below. The invitation is to be aware when they are happening and pursue the teaching that lies as a treasure within.
Like other life experiences, when and where I was located seemed to influence a temporary parting of the veil between the seen and unseen worlds. The message that still speaks to me about who I am, how I am called to show up in the world, and how I am connected to a much bigger reality (an animated living Universe) supports me still. π
My husband Tom and I were in Guatemala, just having led a work-trip with a group of volunteers to Common Hope in Antigua.
After the group left, Tom and I were being led by a tour guide named Hugo, who is deeply connected to many sacred and beautiful places in nature. He is also a friend to many people along the way. We were spending the day at Semuc Champey, a nature preserve with extraordinary land features such as a mile-long natural limestone bridge running over a river below, with crystal clear turquoise pools cascading down from mountain springs (pictured above).
The trip to get there was rough, dusty, and felt a little dangerous over rickety bridges and winding mountainous roads. Access was limited to this site due to itβs remote location and the fragile conditions of the environmental impact of visitors over time.
As we started on our hike up to the pools, we stopped in a cave where one of the springs of clear, cool water originated. I said to Hugo and Tom that I regretted not bringing my Mesa and medicine bag with tobacco to offer gratitude. With that said, immediately the cave filled up with the scent of tobacco, and Hugo turned and smiled at me. I knew then we were on an outing out of time and that the veil would be thin.
A lasting lesson that Spirit honors intention and is around us at all times and places. There is no place we can be in our lives that Spiritual support is not present. All we need to do is be open, aware, awake and acknowledge the relationship to be conscious of it.
